Update Feb 2026/Mar 2026

I was recently complimented on my songwriting output; I said, “Thanks! It’s the unemployment.” Anyway, we’ve been working hard and constantly adding new songs to our growing repertoire, with the odd show peppered into the mix. Did a last minute show on the 7th at Ghost Light with our friends in the Kaj Althaus Quartet as well as a Valentine’s Day show at Brewery Faisan with Swamp Rats, Monty Day, and a solo set by our very own Mark Bolohan.

Mark, during his set at Brewery Faisan.

Hey what time is it?

February 14th was an important one for us; it’s the one-year anniversary of the day the National Park Service website removed any and all mention of transgender people from their page for the historic Stonewall Inn, going so far as to remove the “T” from the LGBT acronym. It’s what inspired me to write our upcoming single “Throwing Bricks” in the first place. A whole year later, and us trans people are even worse off; as I type this, news of trans people across Kansas having their licenses invalidated en masse floods in. This was purposely done overnight before the changes went live so that no one could do anything about it. Without a valid driver’s license, one cannot drive to work, school, or even the DMV to have it fixed without the threat of being arrested. Certainly one can’t move to another state. They want us dead and gone; jail is horrific enough for cis-hetero people, but is a death sentence for most of US, where we will be tortured, forced to detransition, and goaded into suicide. Cisgender people, PLEASE listen to us when we tell you we are in danger. Please start caring about things that do not immediately or directly affect you, because if you think they’ll stop with us, if you think you’re safe…you are gravely mistaken.

Next month, we’ve got a benefit show for abortion rights at the Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids on the 14th, and Outer Limits on the 25th.
