Update Aug 2026/Sep 2026
We may have had to cancel the show at the Lucky Wolf last minute, but there was still plenty more fun to be had for the month of August. For example, on August 22nd the three of us played out in Bay City together not as Izak, but in Matt C. Ax’s backing band for the beautiful wedding of our friends, Zac and Kitty. Matt’s one we’ve worked with before; both Austin and I performed on his “Violent Noncompliance” album and the single “Road to Tennessee” as bass and fiddle, respectively.
We got a featured spot at songwriter’s night at the Copper Hop in St. Clair Shores by the grace of our friend Brion Riborn of the Barelyon musical project on August 27th. We would have done it last year, but I was fresh out of back surgery AND I broke a tooth that day. So we were glad to finally get to do it.
August 28th gave us a show with a bill full of friends, and we made some new ones as well. Nick Toburen is a good friend of ours from the Ghost Light open mic and we instantly hit it off with the Kick It Six at our first show together at the Blind Pig in Ann Arbor and have been buddies ever since.
We wrapped up the three-show weekend at the Dreamland Theater August 29th with Rat Dreams and Jim Cherewick, both of whom gave outstanding performances.
